Fyi the Memphis street edge amplifier that you mentioned is Not a 2000 watt amp. I have the actual ratings, and they are: 220 RMS watts @ 4 ohm x1, 370 RMS watts @ 2 ohm x1, 570 RMS watts @ 1 ohm x1. Those are the actual specs, even though the amp seems like it's a 2k amp because it's what it's implying but trust me it's not.

I think it's completely unrealistic to expect to get 1400 watts from twin 6.5 drivers, regardless of what the manufacturer claims. Why not install it in a truck they were designed for to get real world results like other reviewers? This was like testing a sub on bench with no enclosure since ported boxes use the air space in the vehicle. A while back I ran across one of these new in box for less than half price on Marketplace and almost passed on it based on this review. But after watching the Breakers Stereo & Performance's take on the Memphis MJME6D1T, I decided to give them try and I'm glad I did. It's slanted front fits nearly perfectly against the back seat of my commuter Altima. It takes up minimal space and with the Memphis logo facing front it completely disappears in the trunk. It's fed by a CT Sounds 700.1D putting out 764 watts into 1 ohm (Dyno-ed by RUclipss' Williston Audio Labs) and it sounds great. The car is mostly sound deadened, so I'm get nothing but crystal clear sonic bliss. Its placement provides me with bass that's lower and louder than the two 10" Kicker down firing sealed sub enclosures the Memphis replaced, using the same amp. I would agree with the BS&P review, that there's no chance anyone would guess that it's just two 6.5 drivers in a 1 cu.ft. ported enclosure. I can't imagine how good this would perform in a pickup. I've been into car audio since the '80s and realized long ago not to buy into all the hype. If you do your own research, you won't be disappointed. Shout out to CT Sounds for putting out high quality affordable audio gear. I've been using two of their amps for almost 3 years without a single issue. Even the lowest tier amps outperform the manufacturers power rating.

Do you still repair subs? I bought a refurbushed JL 13w7 and it has a rattle noise coming from the sub itself.. it looks like it was rebuilt properly but im thinking something with the coil is wrong.. my buddy said it sounds like a "death rattle".. im probably gonna have to get it rebuilt or do it myself huh? Doesnt look hard, but that could also be that youre good at what you do and make it look easy lol

Hi I'm trying to recall a 12-inch American bass XFL =1222. And it seems they do not sell recon kits for that particular woofer will they have discontinued them. I am trying to get it reconed.Can u do it or can I get the parts to attempt it myself? Thanks

$390 (8 wrenches) you broke my heart! My uncle is a 40+ year mechanic and will not buy any tool useless it's Snap on or Mac. I bet he has spent $100,000 in tools. An ex girlfriend bought me a Brench Top tool set (Walmart)and I'm still using them! Not saying they are the best but that was 20yrs ago.

As someone who owns this, powered with 2000.1 Amp. Tune your Amp to the lows. You will be shocked by how deep in the low bass these subs actually go. Some tracks i have straight slam at 20hz

Unless you drive a truck with very little room for an enclosure, I'd recommend the biggest woofer the vehicle's available space allows. I am impressed how loud and low these small woofers get.

What can cause vc leads being seperated from where they attach to coil that is not visible at the (former?) I have several high end or hard to find subwoofers that have damage like this. The voice coils are flawless, shiny no damage, but the leads that are integrated in the suspension spider are ripped away inside and the terminals make no connection outside?? Also a majority the spider has failed, lifted, or if there is a clamping ring securing the spider it has seperated. Extreme over power in a high tuned big port area box and overexcursion causing the ripped away type damage? Ive never had this happen to me personally but have collected many rebuildable woofers with this type failure. How do i fix this with reusing the original coil and making new lead wires up to the spider connection? Thanks for any info. Id like to replace the spiders with nice new units and reuse the coils that look new just have no connection leads. Also none have heat damage noticeable from shorting or high power or extreme clipping causing the damage to the wire, its just ripped away, the leads thru the spider are still like new with casing all the way to the speaker terminals on the baskets so its not from melting

This is an old video but I have a question - do you wait for the fiberglass resin to harden between coats or do you put them on wet? If the resin does harden, do you have to sand it between coats!?!? Also, when I have mixed a larger cup of resin, it hardens faster and I end up wasting a lot. Is there a trick to mixing a lot of resin for a larger project?

Do you need the recone kit for the exact same speaker or can you get away with one for the same size and specs?

Would a fosgate bd2500 be too much for 4 of them?
